Canadian author, L.L. Abbott, enters the Teen-YA literary landscape with “UNfollowED”, a humorous adolescent coming-of-age novel that follows four teens as they enter the most difficult point in their lives. Their first year of high school.

Jayson is obsessed with social media and being 'followed' - but when he is ready to start high school and his life is turned upside down, he must decide what's important. His parents won’t talk about his sister’s attempted suicide, his grandmother dies when he is in the room alone with her (revealing a family secret he can’t share), his best friend is moving away, and for the last three years he hasn’t been able to shake the nickname he was blasted with in gym class.  As the four teens get to know each other, Jayson realizes that each of them has their own hurdle to overcome and that they may not be as different from each other as he once thought.

“UNfollowED” allows the reader to experience characteristic teen pressure in the same way teens do. Through the normal course of their day, and sometimes in a haphazard and humorous manner. Peer pressure, family pressure, questions about religion, sexuality and the ever-present burden of social media and how the number of followers is believed to equate to their self-worth.

The author wants readers, young and old, to take away a sense of optimism after reading this story, which she wanted to release in the Fall when a new year of school is beginning. The feeling that even when things don’t seem to be going your way that happy endings are possible, even if the end of your story isn't quite as you had imagined.

Canadian author, L.L. Abbott, introduces the third book in the Lake Pines Mystery Series just as the chill of autumn begins to settle upon readers, which she believes, is a perfect time for a mystery.

When Sebastian Crow is found murdered in his secluded cottage on Crow Island, it seems like an open and shut case of a burglary gone wrong. That is, until Dr. Kerry Dearborne arrives. A ghastly murder scene, no weapon and every access locked from the inside, her gut tells her there’s something more to this murder. She soon uncovers a sinister picture of a hidden life putting only more questions in her path. Before time runs out, Kerry must catch the killer. Because if her instinct is correct, the murderer is ready to claim another victim.

Murder Of Crows gives the reader the classic elements of a whodunit bringing them along on the hunt for the truth before the killer has a chance to strike again. As with each book in the Lake Pines Mystery Series, they can be read alone or in sequence. Although the characters have layered stories that do carry forth, each murder mystery is a story in itself.

L.L. Abbott enjoyed years of Agatha Christie novels in her youth, and before that read and reread the Nancy Drew Mysteries, and revels in bringing the ‘a-ha’ moments to readers as they get closer to the truth and the conclusion of each mystery book.
